REGIONAL COOPERATION IN PROSECUTING WAR CRIMES CASES – CENTRAL TOPIC OF THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE OF CHIEF PROSECUTORS IN BRIONI
30.05.2014. 14:48Central topics of the Conference pertain to the regional cooperation in prosecuting war crimes cases and types of future cooperation.
The Chief Prosecutors’ Conference in Brioni, held annually in late May, provides an opportunity for Prosecutors to discuss practical issues related to the prosecution of war crimes cases and possibilities of developing regional cooperation.
In addition to the representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Conference is attended by officials from the Prosecutor’s Offices of the respective entities and Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, officials of the Prosecutor’s Offices of neighbouring countries, as well as representatives of the ICTY Office of the Prosecutor and the ICTY Residual Mechanism and representatives of the US Embassy in Croatia.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
