CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH THE HEADS OF THE DIRECTORATE FOR COORDINATION OF POLICE BODIES OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA. THE MAIN TOPIC OF THE MEETING PERTAINED TO THE COOPERATION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
22.05.2014. 15:03On this occasion, the Chief Prosecutor got acquainted with the newly appointed heads of the Directorate, with which the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been having good and professional cooperation ever since the establishment of the Directorate.
At this meeting, the issue of cooperation of Prosecutor’s Offices and police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed, as those institutions share the same goal- to detect and prosecute perpetrators of criminal offenses.
The Chief Prosecutor stressed the importance of the cooperation between the respective Prosecutor’s Offices and police for the purpose of efficient collection of evidence and prosecution of perpetrators of criminal offenses.
Also, the Chief Prosecutor emphasized that police agencies and judicial institutions, each in accordance with its competences, must act together in establishing the rule of law and protecting the security of citizens of our country.
At this meeting, an emphasis was put on coordinated cooperation and good communication as the key elements in establishing the rule of law and efficient prosecution of criminal offenses.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
