BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH A WAR CRIMES SUSPECT WAS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN BIJELJINA
28.04.2014. 15:33The suspect is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is suspected of having, while serving as a guard in the detention center Batković located near Bijeljina, committed the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173 of the CC BiH, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs e) and c).
He is suspected of having perpetrated the acts of torture, abuse, beatings, sexual assault as well as other acts equating sexual violence against ethnic Bosniak victims, with the aim of causing great suffering and physical and mental injuries to victims.
Following the arrest the suspect will be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor, who will question him and then make a decision on a motion for remand in custody.
