INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ORGANIZED CRIME AND INTERNATIONAL TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUGS
22.04.2014. 15:09The accused are charged with having, during the period from November 2013 to February 2014, acted as members of an organized crime group that was formed for the purpose of illicit international smuggling, in order to gain unlawful gain, and with having repeatedly smuggled dozens of kilograms of narcotic drug "marijuana-skunk", from Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina to be sold on the illegal market in BiH and further smuggled into European Union countries.
This indictment is the result of the BiH Prosecutor's Office efforts and cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, and joint and parallel investigation with law enforcement and judicial institutions of Montenegro, during which significant international cooperation was achieved.
According to the evidence gathered and the results of the investigation, the accused persons have smuggled approximately 71.5 kilograms of Marijuana "Skunk", the value of which on the illegal narcotic market reaches hundreds of thousands of Bosnian convertible marks (BAM).
During the search of a motor vehicle all of the aforementioned narcotic drug "marijuana" as well as mobile phones, SIM cards and other items relevant in terms of evidence of the criminal offense were found and seized.
This indictment includes 10 accused persons from the area of Gacko and Mostar in Bosnia and the area of Nikšić in Montenegro. The indictment is supported by voluminous evidence and the testimony of prosecution witnesses.
The indictment was issued against the following persons:
1. Dragan Doderović, born on August 13, 1967 in Plužine - Montenegro, residing in Gacko, with prior convictions, citizen of BiH,
2. Aleksandar Međedović, born on June 13, 1981 in Nikšić - Montenegro where he resides, a citizen of the Republic of Montenegro, currently in custody,
3. Adis Hadžimahović, born on August 27, 1973 in Trebinje, residing in Mostar, with prior convictions, citizen of BiH,
4. Mijomir Tomanović, born on August 22, 1985 in Trebinje, residing in Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
5. Dragan Slijepčević, born on September 23, 1977 in Trebinje, residing in Gacko, with prior convictions, citizen of BiH,
6. Zdravko Rončević, born on May 15, 1966 in Gacko, where he resides, with prior convictions, citizen of BiH,
7. Puniša Nikolić, born on May 12, 1967 in Nikšić, where he resides, with prior convictions, citizen of the Republic of Montenegro, currently in custody,
8. Danilo Božović, born on March 21, 1979 in Nikšić, where he resides, a citizen of the Republic of Montenegro, currently in custody,
9. Ilija Bumbić, born on August 2, 1981 in Gacko, where he resides, citizen of BiH and
10. Slobodan Papović, born on April 21, 1989 in Trebinje, residing in Gacko, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This indictment sends a clear message to the public and the citizens that Bosnia and Herzegovina has strong prosecutorial and police capacities trained to combat the worst forms of organized crime, as well as that international and regional cooperation between judicial and police institutions is crucial in the fight against international crime.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
