AN ACCUSED PERSON IN THE SAFET AHMETAJ ET.AL. CASE CONCLUDED A PLEA AGREEMENT
18.04.2014. 13:30The accused Safet Sadiković entered into plea agreement with the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized crime Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
Pursuant to the agreement the Prosecutor agrees that the accused be rendered a suspended one (1) year imprisonment sentence by the Court of BiH which will not be executed providing that the accused does not commit another criminal offense within the next three (3) years
Pursuant to the agreement the accused also pledges to testify, when summoned, before the Court of BiH against the other suspects in this investigation and possible subsequent indictments as well as against persons involved in other investigations of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH that he may have knowledge of.
By virtue of signing the agreement the accused fully admitted committing the criminal offense he was charged with by the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued on August 12, 2013. The proposed sentence is in line with the role of the accused in commission of the criminal offense listed in the indictment and the aggravating and mitigating circumstances surrounding the particular offense.
With this agreement the accused confirms that he is aware of the content of the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. He also confirms that the plea statement was given voluntarily, knowingly and with full understanding of its legal consequences.
Pursuant to this agreement the accused has waived his right to a trial as well as his right to appeal the criminal sanction that shall be rendered to him by the Court of BiH.
The agreement was submitted to the Court of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
