DEPUTY HEAD OF SPECIAL DEPARTMENT FOR WAR CRIMES ATTENDED THE PRESENTATION OF THE REPORT ON COMBATING IMPUNITY FOR CONFLICT-RELATED SEXUAL VIOLENCE
04.04.2014. 15:37Deputy Head of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH - Prosecutor Gordana Tadić, attended the presentation and has informed the participants about the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in such cases.
The OSCE report analyzes the progress made and the obstacles that arise in the course of conducting the investigation, prosecution and trial before the BiH judicial institutions at the state level, in conflict-related sexual violence cases.
Among those present at the event were Ambassador Fletcher M.Burton - Head of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Meddzida Kreso - President of the Court of BiH.
This report is yet another form of support to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in its efforts on establishing the rule of law and prosecuting war crimes cases including conflict-related sexual violence within such cases, as well as on other key elements of justice and reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
