Officials of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH met with representatives of the associations of war crimes victims from the Prijedor area.

The matters discussed at meeting were the prosecution of war crimes committed in the Prijedor area, indictments issued so far, as well as cases that are viewed as priority for prosecution in the future. Representatives of the BiH Prosecutor's Office informed the representatives of the families of the victims that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is strengthening the capacities of the Special Department for War Crimes and that appointment of additional prosecutors within the framework of IPA project is expected to soon take place, as well as that certain cases relating to the area of Prijedor, fall into the priority cases for the future. The process of identification of the remains of several hundred victims from the area of Prijedor found in a mass grave Tomašica was also discussed at the meeting. The Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH maintains extensive cooperation and communication with representatives of the associations of victims of war crimes from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, because it views these associations as its partners in the process of identifying and prosecuting war crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
