EXHUMATION OF BODIES OF VICTIMS FROM THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN TESLIĆ MUNICIPALITY

The found mortal remains of the victims will be transported to the premises of the Banjaluka City Cemetery, where forensic, as well as criminal and technical analysis will be performed, the cause of death will be determined and bone samples will be taken for the DNA analysis in order to establish the victims’ identity.
The exhumation process was coordinated in the field by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, whereas exhumation was attended by officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist, officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and police officers of the Teslić Police Station.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and finding missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
