INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST ALEKSANDAR ĐOKANOVIĆ (1985) FOR PREVENTING OFFICIAL PERSON IN THE EXERCISE OF OFFICIAL DUTY
17.01.2014. 15:51The Indictment charges Aleksandar Đokanović with failing to comply with an order of authorized officials of the Border Police while driving an Opel Combo truck and refusing to open the trunk of his vehicle, on 23 October 2013 in the border area in Pobrđe in Bratunac Municipality which was in the zone of responsibility of the Zvornik Border Police Unit, subsequent to which he started the engine with an intent to escape.
When a police officer tried to prevent him from moving away in his vehicle, the suspect Đokanović continued driving, accelerating gradually and, at the same time, “dragging” the border police officer with his vehicle; he kept him in that position for some twenty meters and then he released him for security reasons. Thereupon, the border police officer and the rest of the patrol went after the suspect, pursuing him in an official motor vehicle. The pursuit ended in Bratunac, where Đokanović stopped the vehicle and continued offering resistance to authorized official persons.
The accused Aleksandar Đokanović is charged with using force to prevent an official person in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the exercise of his official duties within his authority, whereby he committed the criminal offense of Preventing Official Person in the Exercise of Official Duty, as referred to in Article 241a, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
