INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST FIVE PERSONS FOR ORGANIZED CRIME AND TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS

- V. J., born on 04 May 1981 in Zenica,
- Č. I., born on 27 July 1973 in Zenica,
- Č. M., born on 14 April 1975 in Zenica,
- Z. A., born on 27 September 1985 in Zenica.
These accused persons have been charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Trafficking in Persons, as an organized criminal group, because they were finding indigent female persons of Serbian and BiH citizenship, one of those persons being an underage person, by way of deceiving them and promising them employment in catering industry, and they organized provision of sexual services for money in a catering facility in Busovača Municipality.
Some of the victims of trafficking in persons, who were brought into such a situation due to their indigent position, were single mothers.
After an extensive investigation conducted upon the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, perpetrators of these criminal offenses were found and the aforementioned catering facility was subsequently closed.
The accused persons are charged with the criminal offense of Organized Crime, as referred to in Article 250 of the Criminal Code of BiH (hereinafter: BiH CC), in conjunction with the criminal offense of Trafficking in Persons, as referred to in Article 186 of the BiH CC.
The Indictment and its extensive evidentiary material have been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
