7 PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY FOR COMMITTING WAR CRIMES IN KUKAVICE A PLACE LOCATED IN ROGATICA MUNICIPALITY
27.12.2013. 15:14The suspects are under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH for war crimes committed against the ethnic Serb victims in Kukavice a place located in the municipality of Rogatica.
They are suspected to have, on August 28, 1992 as members of the RBH Army, carried out an attack on Serb civilians who were moving from the area of Goražde towards the territory of Rogatica.
There were more than 20 Serb victims in the attack mainly women, children and the elderly.
The Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH conducted a thorough and intensive investigation of this war crime, which represents the greatest suffering of ethnic Serb victims in the area, following which the suspects were identified and deprived of liberty this morning
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH continues its investigation into this matter aiming to soon issue an indictment.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
