26.11.2013. 15:08
Following the decision of the BiH Presidency approving the use of machinery of the Armed Forces of BiH in the efforts to accelerate the exhumation process the Chief Prosecutor is soon to meet with officials from the Armed Forces of BiH, in order to agree the specific details of the deployment of the machinery in excavations and other works at the exhumation sites.
  • CHIEF PROSECUTOR TO MEET WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ARMED FORCES OF BIH AND DISCUSS THE DEPLOYMENT OF ITS MACHINERY AIMING TO EXPEDITE THE EXHUMATION PROCESS

The machinery of the AF BiH will significantly accelerate the process of exhumation at the sites of Tomašica and Buća Potok. The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will commence activities for the conclusion of agreements on the use of machinery of AF BiH in the future as well, in order to accelerate the process of tracing and identifying the missing persons.

The Chief Prosecutor has instructed all institutions involved in the process of exhumations that there cannot be any stopping of the exhumations due to deteriorating weather conditions and that they must take all action possible to resume the activities.

The process of tracing the missing, exhumations and identification of the remains is one of the priorities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH because this issue is very important for the families of war crimes victims who have been searching for their loved ones for over two decades as well as for the process of establishing the rule of law, peace and reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
