EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS KILLED DURING THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN BRATUNAC MUNICIPALITY
11.11.2013. 15:11Incomplete mortal remains of two persons were unearthed at the first location while remains of yet another person were unearthed at the other location.
The recovered remains were transported to the Commemorative Center Tuzla for forensic and criminal investigation procedure i.e. determination of the cause of death and sample collection for the DNA analysis for identification purposes.
The exhumation process was coordinated by an investigator of the Prosecutor's Office who was out in the field and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a forensic pathologist and representatives of Bratunac PS.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other law enforcement agencies and institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the remains of war crimes victims in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
