AN OPERATION CODENAMED "POSKOK" IS BEING CARRIED OUT IN TREBINJE, MOSTAR AND EAST SARAJEVO BY ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH
05.11.2013. 15:14By order of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH the authorized officers of the RS MoI and the HNC MoI have deprived 10 persons of liberty and searched a total of 7 locations used by the suspects in the area o Trebinje, Mostar and East Sarajevo.
This is a joint operation of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the District Prosecutor's Office Trebinje.
The operation is focused on detection and criminal prosecution of persons suspected of cross-border smuggling of narcotics from the territory of the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the course of the operation more than 63 kilos of marijuana "skunk", the value of which amounts to several hundred thousand Euros on the illegal market of the Western Europe, were found. Certain documentary evidence that will be subject to expert examination was also seized.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH charges the suspects with involvement in the criminal offenses of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH and Organized Crime under Article 250 of the same Code.
Following the police procedure, all suspects shall be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH who shall question the suspects and then decide on taking further actions regarding motions for remand in custody.
The public will be informed about all future activities and results of the operation in due time.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
