EXHUMATION CARRIED OUT IN BOSANSKI PETROVAC MUNICIPALITY
31.10.2013. 15:13The found mortal remains of the victims will be transported to the Public Utilities Enterprise of City Cemeteries in Banja Luka, where forensic, as well as criminal and technical analysis will be performed, the cause of death will be determined and bone samples will be taken for the DNA analysis in order to establish the victims’ identity.
The exhumation process was coordinated in the field by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, whereas officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, representatives of the Ministry of the Interior of Una-Sana Canton and an expert forensic pathologist participated in the search for, and exhumation of mortal remains.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons, continues its activities in the process of finding and identifying mortal remains in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
