EXHUMATION OF THE BODIES OF VICTIMS KILLED IN THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN VIŠEGRAD
29.10.2013. 15:13At the site of Gornja Lijeska, incomplete skeletal remains of one body were found, whereas at the site of Međeđa skeletal remains of two bodies, a complete and an incomplete one, were found.
The found mortal remains will be transported to Goražde for autopsy, forensic analysis and identification.
This exhumation was attended by representatives of the BiH Missing Persons Institute, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Višegrad Police Station.
The exhumation was supervised by the Investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, who coordinated the work of police, forensic and other authorized officers carrying out the exhumation process, in accordance with the instructions given by the Prosecutor.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with the institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
