HIDAJET TRAKO, ASSISTANT FBIH MINISTER OF JUSTICE FOR EXECUTION OF CRIMINAL SANCTIONS, DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY. AFTER THE QUESTIONING OF THE SUSPECT, PROHIBITING MEASURES REQUESTED

29.10.2013. 15:05
Upon the Order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, SIPA police officers deprived Hidajet Trako, an official person at the Ministry of Justice of FBiH suspected of the criminal offense of Obstruction of Justice in connection with the Abuse of Office, of liberty.

Hidajet Trako, Assistant FBiH Minister of Justice for the execution of criminal sanctions, is suspected of abusing his office to conduct an unlawful relocation of a protected witness in a case of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH from one penal and correctional institution to another into which he should not have, by any means, been relocated due to a threat to his life and personal safety.

The judicial and police agencies have expressly stated that this protected witness is not, under any circumstances, to be relocated to that penal and correctional institution; thus, Hidajet Trako is suspected of abusing his office to obstruct justice whereby he seriously endangered the protected witness’s life and personal safety and hampered the investigation in the case conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

After the questioning of the suspected Hidajet Trako, the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in charge of this case put forward a Motion with the Court of BiH seeking prohibiting measures. These prohibiting measures refer to the prohibition from performing official activities and prohibition from meeting other suspects in this case.

The suspect and his attorney agreed to the proposed prohibiting measures.

As part of the same case, the State Investigation and Protection Agency- SIPA provided the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH with a report against several persons suspected of the criminal offenses of Obstruction of Justice and Abuse of Office or Official Authority.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and authorized law enforcement agencies resume their activities in combating organized crime and corruption, as well as the activities aimed at fighting the obstruction of justice, for the purpose of establishing the rule of law and creating a safer environment for all the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
