A SEARCH OF THE CORRECTIONAL AND PENAL INSTITUTION IN MOSTAR ONGOING, PURSUANT TO THE ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH

28.10.2013. 17:10
Acting pursuant to the Order issued by a Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH  and the Order of the Court of BiH, authorized police officers of the Police Department of FBiH are conducting the search of the Correctional and Penal Institution in Mostar.

The search is being carried out for the purpose of seizing the documentation pertaining to the prison sentence of Dominik Ilijašević aka ‘Como’, the convicted person who is on the run.

After the seizure and inspection of the documentation, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and police agencies will resume activities aimed at determining responsibility of persons who enabled the convicted person’s flight during his prison leave.

The flight of Dominik Ilijašević aka ‘Como’ has endangered security and caused anxiety among families of victims of war crimes for which Ilijašević was convicted to 15 years of imprisonment.

Moreover, the aforementioned flight has had a negative impact on security and hampered the process of establishing the rule of law and reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is undertaking activities, along with police agencies and in cooperation with the State Attorney’s Office of the Republic of Croatia, aimed at committing this convict to serve his prison sentence and prosecuting and punishing him for the flight from his prison sentence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
