SEARCHES ARE BEING CONDUCTED IN LOPARE, UGLJEVIK AND BIJELJINA

23.10.2013. 17:40
Today, on 23 October 2013, upon the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the order of the Court of BiH, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) are conducting searches at several locations in Lopare, Ugljevik and Bijeljina municipalities, searching houses, house lots, all auxiliary facilities and passenger motor vehicles used by three persons suspected of several criminal offenses.

Searches are being carried out due to the grounds of suspicion that the three suspects who reside in, or use residential facilities in the aforementioned municipalities committed the criminal offenses of Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Products of Dual Use , as referred to in Article 193 of the BiH CC, Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 195 of the BiH CC, and Smuggling of Persons, as referred to in Article 189 of the BiH CC.

During the search, all objects found in the searched facilities which are the subject of this search and which may be used as evidence of the commission of these criminal offenses will be temporarily seized, pursuant to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.

These three suspects will be deprived of liberty by SIPA officers and then handed over to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH within the statutory time limit. The Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH will question them and then decide whether to file a motion with the Court of BiH seeking custody against these suspects.

The investigation in this case continues.
