PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH AND POLICE AGENCIES FROM BOTH ENTITIES PARTICIPATED IN AN INTERNATIONAL ACTION NAMED ‘ELENIKA’, AIMED AT DETECTING INTERNATIONAL NETWORKS OF SMUGGLERS OF LARGE QUANTITIES OF HEROIN NARCOTIC DRUG
22.10.2013. 17:10Searches were carried out at several locations in the territory of Una-Sana Canton, as well as in the territory of Ugljevik.
Activities carried out in BiH are part of the activities which are being conducted in several countries within this international action.
In this case, significant cooperation was established with police and judicial authorities of the Republic of Italy and Anti-mafia Department of the Italian Republic Prosecutor’s Office which was the leader in this investigation, as well as with judicial and police authorities of the countries in the region.
The investigation is aimed at detecting perpetrators of organized crime related to the illicit international sale of large quantities of Heroin narcotic drug.
As part of the activities conducted in BiH, upon the order of the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and pursuant to the Order of the Court, searches were conducted at several locations and five suspects were questioned.
In view of the fact that this is a wide-scale international action, and that only a part of the activities is being realized in the territory of BiH, at this stage, we cannot provide further details on the investigative actions conducted.
