FOUR PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN A COORDINATED OPERATION OF THE BORDER POLICE AND THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH

09.10.2013. 13:49
Persons deprived of liberty are citizens of the Republic of Slovenia and BiH, and are suspected of international smuggling of the Skunk narcotic drug. Prosecutor in charge of the case will soon put forward a Motion for custody for these suspects.

The drug was discovered in the motor vehicle in which the suspects travelled, and while border police officers of the Novi Grad Border Police Unit were inspecting the vehicle, one suspect suddenly put the vehicle in motion, hit one border police officer with it and then moved away from the border crossing.

The suspect was soon found and deprived of liberty in an efficient and fast pursuit, and the Skunk narcotic drug was also found in the amount of approximately fifteen (15) kilograms, which the suspect had thrown out of the vehicle but the official tracking dog found it.

All the four suspects were deprived of liberty and were, late last night, handed over to the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in charge of the case, who will question them and put forward a Motion to the Court of BiH seeking custody in the duration of thirty (30) days, as prescribed by law.

The confiscated Marijuana- Skunk narcotic drug reaches the price of tens of thousands of Euros at an illegal narcotic market in Western European countries.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH and BiH Border Police will continue working together to fight international smuggling of narcotic drugs.
