DELEGATION OF AMBASSADORS IN BIH VISITED THE EXHUMATION SITES AT LANDFILL IN BUĆA POTOK AND TOMAŠICA
25.09.2013. 14:59Intensive activities have been undertaken at both mentioned exhumation sites for quite a while now and will continue in the future as well.
Investigators of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH who coordinate the efforts of all those involved in the exhumation process, informed the representatives of the diplomatic core about the activities that are being carried out at these locations, as well as about other important data in the process of search, exhumation and identification of missing persons.
The distinguished visitors were made aware of the fact that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, as well as other institutions involved in the process of exhumations, undertake intensive activities to secure the locations and to organize the process of recovery of the victims and their further forensic processing and identification.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH i.e. the Special Department for War Crimes, gives priority to activities aimed at search, exhumation and identification of the missing persons, because it is very important for the families of the victims, as well as for its work on war crimes cases in which the discovery and identification of remains is a significant evidentiary material for the prosecution.
In the coming year the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will, due to the increasing scope of activities related to exhumations, seek greater resource allocation for this purpose.
The exhumation process continues at both sites.
