EXHUMATION OF THE PAST WAR VICTIMS IS BEING CARRIED OUT IN PRIJEDOR MUNICIPALITY
04.09.2013. 15:16According to the information available at this point several skeletal remains were found during this process of exhumation of the remains at the aforementioned location. The exhumation process shall continue during the next few days
The recovered remains shall be transported to the Identification Center Šejkovača in Sanski Most for forensic processing i.e. determination of the cause of death and collection of bone samples for DNA analysis aiming to establish the identity of the victims.
The exhumation process was coordinated by an investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, doctor specializing in forensic medicine as well as RS MoI officers.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying the missing, continues its activities on exhumations and in the process of tracing the missing in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
