EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS FROM THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN THE MOSTAR MUNICIPALITY
26.07.2013. 15:16The found mortal remains will be transported to the Sutina City Cemetery in Mostar where forensic analysis will be performed and the cause of death determined and bone samples will be taken for DNA analysis to establish the victim’s identity.
The exhumation process was coordinated by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and the exhumation was attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of the Herzegovina- Neretva Canton.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying the missing persons, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
