EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS FROM THE PAST WAR COMPLETED IN ZVORNIK MUNICIPALITY
17.07.2013. 15:51At the site of Crni Vrh - Planinci in Zvornik Municipality, incomplete mortal remains of at least three persons from the past war were exhumed.
The found mortal remains will be transported to the Commemorative Center in Tuzla, where samples will be taken for DNA analysis, for the purpose of identification and establishing the victims’ identity. The DNA analysis of these bodies will be performed in the laboratory of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).
The exhumation process is supervised by an Investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, who coordinates the work of police, forensic and other authorized officers carrying out the exhumation process, in accordance with the instructions given by the Prosecutor.
This exhumation is being attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, representatives of the RS Ministry of the Interior, an expert forensic pathologist, employees of the Commemorative Center in Tuzla and an Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
