EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS KILLED DURING THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN MOSTAR MUNICIPALITY
10.06.2013. 15:00An exhumation was carried out at the location of Dobrč in Mostar municipality. Skeletal remains of one person were unearthed.
The recovered remains shall be transported to Town Cemetery Sutina in Mostar for forensic processing i.e. determination of the cause of death and collection of bone samples for DNA analysis aiming to identify the victim.
The exhumation process was coordinated by an investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, forensic pathologist and police officers of HNC MoI.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other law enforcement agencies and institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying the missing, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the remains of war crimes victims in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
