CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF THE SWISS CONFEDERATION
06.06.2013. 15:15Efforts and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH were discussed at the meeting, as well as the planned capacity strengthening, particularly in the area of war crimes prosecution, which is in line with the conclusions and recommendations of the structural dialogue on judicial reform.
The Ambassador expressed the support of the Government of Switzerland to strengthening the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the willingness of Switzerland to provide support in this process in accordance with the possibilities and activities carried out by the Swiss Government within its assistance to the BiH judiciary.
The possibilities of cooperation between the prosecutors from BiH and Switzerland within the scope of projects that are already being implemented were also discussed.
Ambassador Shaller emphasized the support to capacity building for prosecution of war crimes and organized crime as well as to the process of establishing the rule of law in BiH.
The Swiss Confederation has, for quite some time now, provided active support to the development and strengthening of the judiciary in BiH at both state and entity level.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
