EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS FROM THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN BOSANSKA KRUPA MUNICIPALITY
09.05.2013. 14:56At the site of Donja Ivanjska, in the territory of Bosanska Krupa Municipality, incomplete mortal remains of one person were exhumed.
The found mortal remains were transported to the premises of Krajina Identification Project (KIP) of Šejkovača, Sanski Most where forensic analysis will be carried out to establish the cause of death and bone samples will be taken to establish the victim’s identity by performing the DNA analysis.
The exhumation was supervised by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, whereas officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of Una- Sana Canton and Federal Police Department participated in the process of finding and exhuming the mortal remains.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
