PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH PROVIDED INTERPOL WITH DOCUMENTATION ON NASER KELJMENDI CASE
07.05.2013. 15:29Due to the need for urgent action in this matter and in view of the custody measure imposed in Kosovo, this information will be delivered to the relevant judicial and police authorities in the territory of Kosovo.
Later in the day, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will also present the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a Request for Extradition of the suspect Naser Keljmendi to the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the existing legal procedure.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is in constant contact with all institutions in BiH involved in this process for the purpose of undertaking all the required activities for extradition of Naser Keljmendi and conducting his prosecution in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Within its investigation in this case, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is suspecting Naser Keljmendi of Organized Crime in conjunction with the criminal offenses of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and the criminal offense of Murder.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is resuming its activities in this case in the direction of issuing an Indictment against several persons.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
