CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF POBIH RECEIVED THE AMBASSADOR OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY TO BIH
30.04.2013. 14:49Chief Prosecutor informed the Ambassadress about the latest activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in the fight against organized crime and corruption, as well as the activities on the planned increase in capacities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and relocation to a new building with adequate capacities to accommodate all employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
Chief Prosecutor pointed out that there will be more activities in the future aiming to strengthen the capacities in prosecution of war crimes and that the Prosecutor’s Office will be persistent in establishing the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Prosecutor also emphasized that the capacity building of the Prosecutor’s Office will impact its results in the future and that the support of the Government and the international community are necessary in order to strengthen the rule of law and independence of the judiciary.
Representatives of the German Embassy commended the efforts of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in prosecution of organized crime and corruption, and wished the Chief Prosecutor every success in his future endeavors.
Meeting participants pointed out that the strengthening of judicial institutions, judicial independence, the establishment of the rule of law and independence in the appointment of prosecutors are core elements for the upcoming process of European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attracting investments to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the progress and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
