THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH AND THE STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA HELD A METING DEDICATED TO ACTIVITIES ON HARMONIZATION AND SIGNING OF THE PROTOCOL ON COOPERATION IN PROSECUTION OF PERPETRATORS OF WAR CRIMES
11.03.2013. 15:03Activities concerning harmonization and conclusion of the Protocol between the State Attorney's Office of the Republic of Croatia and the Prosecutor's Office Of BiH on cooperation in the prosecution of perpetrators of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide were discussed.
This protocol will enable both BiH and Croatian Judiciary to prosecute perpetrators of war crimes, which can be located in these countries and hold the citizenship of BiH and Croatia, more efficiently.
The protocol is a positive development in the interest of justice and aims to prevent impunity of war crimes.
The negotiations on the harmonization of the text of the Protocol have commenced today at the meeting and will be continued in the future.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
