AN EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS FROM THE PAST WAR WAS CARRIED OUT AT ZVORNIK MUNICIPALITY
04.03.2013. 15:04Incomplete remains of three persons were unearthed from individual graves at three locations in Zvornik municipality: Snagovo, Jošanica in the area of Velje Glave and Kamenica in the area of Glođansko brdo.
The recovered remains shall be transported to the Commemorative Center Tuzla for forensic processing i.e. determination of the cause of death, and collection of DNA samples for identification purposes.
The exhumation was supervised by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine and Police Officers of Zvornik PS.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
