REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH HELD A SUCCESSFUL MEETING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE OFFICE OF THE WAR CRIMES PROSECUTOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA
28.02.2013. 15:37At the meeting held with colleagues from the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia the representatives discussed the issues of cooperation and implementation of the Protocol on cooperation between the prosecutor's offices in the prosecution of war crimes, as well as specific activities to be taken following the entry into force of the Protocol on Cooperation, which was signed a month ago in Brussels.
Among other issues, 12 specific cases were discussed in terms of the exchange of evidence for further processing, including the cases of ”Dobrovoljačka Street" and "Tuzla convoy" which the Prosecutor's Office of BiH requested in light of the agreed exchange of evidence and further processing of these two cases in the judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Representatives of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH are satisfied with the outcome of the meeting and the concrete agreed cooperation with colleagues from Serbia. It was agreed that the meetings and concrete cooperation will continue in the future in the interest of justice and more efficient prosecution of war crimes.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
