Acting on orders of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, early this morning, police officers of SIPA arrested Zoran MILIĆ, a former HVO member suspected of war crimes committed in 1993 in the area of Busovača.

By order of the Prosecutor of the Regional Team 2 of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH the following suspect was deprived of liberty :

- Zoran MILIĆ, born on April 28, 1962 in Solaković in Busovača, where he resides, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The person in question is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is suspected to have, during the armed conflict between the Army of BiH and HVO, as a member of an HVO unit from Busovača acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions Relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Times of War.

He is specifically suspected of involvement in the killing of four Bosniaks, committed in Busovača in 1993 and of causing bodily harm and unlawful and wanton destruction of property.

The suspect will, within the legal deadline, be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor, who will question him and then make a decision concerning a motion for custody.

Zoran MILIĆ is a co-perpetrator of war crimes that were committed together with Zoran MARINIĆ, against whom the indictment was confirmed on January 10, 2013. The case v. Zoran Marinić falls into Category II cases, which means that this is a case in which the investigation was initiated by the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICTY and that it was subsequently, due to end of mandate and ICTY exit strategy, forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

The suspect Zoran MILIĆ is under investigation for the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs c) and f) in conjunction with Article 180, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
