CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH MET WITH THE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
05.02.2013. 15:12Chief Prosecutor informed the Ambassador about the future priorities in the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which will include intensive work on cases of organized crime and corruption, war crimes and terrorism.
Cooperation of BIH judicial institutions with the judiciary of countries in the region as wall as current infrastructural capacities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and improvement of infrastructure and working conditions were discussed at the meeting.
The Ambassador stressed the importance of the increased pursuit of corruption cases and making additional progress on war crimes cases.
Ambassador Moon expressed his support to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in the process of establishing the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the criminal prosecution of perpetrators of the most serious crimes aiming to create the safest living environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the past years, the U.S. Embassy in BiH has significantly aided the work of the judiciary and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and this support shall continue in the future as well.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
