TWO PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY
05.12.2012. 15:06The Special Department for War Crimes suspects these persons with having, as members of the Army of Republika Srpska, on July 23, 1992 taken part in the capture and execution of ten Bosniak civilians in the village of Čarakovo in Prijedor, who were killed in front of the mosque in the village.
These suspects are under investigation for the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The arrested suspects will, during the day, be handed over to the prosecutor who will question them and later decide whether to file a motion for custody.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
