INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST MIJO VINCETIĆ (1970)
03.12.2012. 15:06The accused is charged that on August 29, 2012 at around 12:00 PM while working as an authorized officer of the Border Police, exercising supervision and control of the Šamac International border crossing at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina he demanded, in the aim of obtaining benefits, and accepted a gift for the omission of an act that ought to be performed within his officials powers, which is contrary to current legislation.
The indictment alleges that detrimental to the interests and objectives of the service on the aforementioned date he demanded and received a cash gift in the amount of 30.00 Euros from a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina with residence visa in the UK in order not to perform an act which ought to have been performed by him. The indictment alleges that the accused enabled the aforementioned person to illegally cross the state border i.e. to enter BiH without buying an international insurance contract (green card) i.e. cross-border motor vehicle liability insurance.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
