INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST SINIŠA BAKAL (1975) FOR SMUGGLING
30.11.2012. 15:09As alleged in the indictment, Siniša BAKAL has, on September 12, 2012, by way of avoiding customs control and contrary to the applicable legal provisions on customs policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, transported a total of 8135 pieces of different types of chocolate in total estimated value of 13.403.43 BAM across the customs line at the "Rača" international border crossing between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia in his towing vehicle "MAN". The goods, as it was found during the search performed by authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority - Regional Centre Tuzla, were placed in hidden compartments in the driver's cabin.
In this manner, by way of avoiding measures of customs control, the accused has carried goods the import of which requires special approval over the customs line without an appropriate approval and has thus committed the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods under Article 214, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
