EXHUMATION OF BODIES OF VICTIMS KILLED IN THE PAST WAR CARRIED OUT IN FOČA MUNICIPALITY
29.11.2012. 13:21The found mortal remains of human bodies will b e transferred to Goražde in order to perform forensic analysis and sampling for DNA analysis. The DNA analysis will be performed in the laboratory of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP). After the completion of the DNA analysis, the process of identification of mortal remains will follow.
The exhumation process was supervised by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, whereas representatives of the BiH Missing Persons Institute, a forensic pathologist, the required workers and machines, as well as police officers of the Foča Public Security Center took part in the exhumation procedure.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
