EXHUMATION OF A WAR VICTIM WAS CARRIED OUT IN SANSKI MOST MUNICIPALITY
21.11.2012. 15:57The recovered remains were transported to the Identification Centre Šejkovača in Sanski Most for forensic and crime related processing, where the cause of death is to be established and DNA samples collected in order to establish the identity of the victim through DNA analysis.
The exhumation was supervised by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a forensic pathologist as well as police officers of the Una-Sana Canton's War Crimes Department.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
