EXHUMATION WAS CARRIED OUT IN ŠEKOVIĆI MUNICIPALITY
12.11.2012. 15:25The recovered remains shall be transported to the Commemorative Center Tuzla for forensic and crime-related technical processing as well as collection of DNA samples. The DNA analysis of the remains shall be handled by the laboratory of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP). Once the DNA analysis is completed the process of identification of the remains shall commence.
The exhumation was supervised by a Legal officer of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine, workers and machinery of the Commemorative Center Tuzla and police officers of Šekovići PS.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
