THE ACCUSED BERISLAV JUKIĆ CONCLUDED A PLEA AGREEMENT
16.10.2012. 14:55The accused Berislav JUKIĆ – born on June 6, 1982 in Mostar, residing in Posušje, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia - entered into a plea agreement with the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
By virtue of signing the agreement the accused JUKIĆ fully admitted committing the criminal offense he was charged with by the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued on May 28, 2012.
The prosecutor and the defense agree that pursuant to the agreement the accused be rendered an imprisonment sentence of one (1) year by the Court of BiH.
The proposed sentence is in line with the role of the accused in commission of the criminal offense listed in the indictment of the Hamdija MURIĆ et al. case
With this agreement the accused confirms that he is aware of the content of the indictment issued by the BiH Prosecutor's Office. He also confirms that the plea statement was given voluntarily, knowingly and with full understanding of the legal consequences, pursuant to Article 231 of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH.
By virtue of the plea agreement the accused has pledged to testify before the Court of BiH when summoned by the Court of BiH.
Pursuant to this agreement the accused has waived his right to a trial and appeal to the criminal sanction that shall be rendered to him by the Court of BiH.
The agreement was submitted to the Court of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
