EXHUMATION OF THE REMAINS OF VICTIMS KILLED IN THE PAST WAR WAS CARRIED OUT IN PRIJEDOR MUNICIPALITY
04.10.2012. 15:16On October 2-3, 2012 an exhumation was carried out in Prijedor municipality at the location of Hambarine in the Ćopići hamlet and the location of Kozaruša in the Blaževići hamlet. The remains of six victims killed in the past war were unearthed.
The recovered remains shall be transported to Identification Centre Šejkovača in Sanski Most for a post mortem exam, forensic processing and identification.
The exhumation was supervised by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine and police officers of RS MoI and Prijedor PS.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
