THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH HAS RECEIVED A SECOND INSTANCE VERDICT IN THE RUSTEMPAŠIĆ RIJAD ET AL.
10.09.2012. 15:17The final verdict, confirming the first instance verdict, renders the accused Rijad RUSTEMPAŠIĆ an imprisonment sentence of 4 years and 6 months, the accused Abdulah HANDŽIĆ an imprisonment sentence of 3 years and 4 months and the accused Edis VELIĆ an imprisonment sentence of 3 years and 4 months.
The accused persons in this case were charged with preparing to commit terrorist acts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the realization of which was hampered by the activities of the law enforcement agencies and the investigation of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
This verdict is the result of an effective cooperation of several law enforcement agencies in BiH.
The Prosecutor's Office, along with police and security agencies, continues its intensive work on cases related to crimes of terrorism, with the aim of ensuring a secure living environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
