EXHUMATION OF THE VICTIMS KILLED IN THE PAST WAR IS BEING CARRIED OUT IN BOSANSKI PETROVAC MUNICIPALITY
28.08.2012. 15:04One exhumation was carried out in the morning hours of August 27, 2012 at the location of Rastoka-Ribnik resulting with the uncovery of the remains of one victim.
The second exhumation is being carried out at the location of Klenovac. A few skeletal remains, presumed to belong to several persons, were unearthed so far.
The recovered remains shall be transferred to the Identification center in Banja Luka for a post mortem exam, forensic processing and identification.
The exhumation process is supervised by an investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP), the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine, workers of Banja Luka city cemetery, as well as representatives of Una-Sana Canton MoI who have secured the scene.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other law enforcement agencies and institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of locating and identifying the mortal remains in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
