INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST MARIJAN BAOTIĆ (1956) DUE TO FRAUD IN OFFICE
29.06.2012. 14:33The accused Marijan BAOTIĆ is charged with having, as an assistant minister in the Ministry of Security, unlawfully received remuneration for separate living costs due to the fact that he had reported Orašje as his permanent residence while an investigation has found that he owns an apartment in Sarajevo in which he stays with his family.
According to the indictment, M. BAOTIĆ has, on a yet undetermined date in September 2007, while working as a responsible person in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and with the aim of acquiring unlawful material gain, submitted false data on residence and mislead the person authorized to make payments into proceeding with continuous unlawful payments for separate living costs in the period from October 9, 2007 to August 31, 2011 by which time he was paid a total amount of 16.216.71, KM which is the amount of damages caused to the BiH budget.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
