SAVO ŽIVKOVIĆ (1960) DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

ŽIVKOVIĆ is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is suspected of having committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity. He is suspected with war crimes committed against Bosniaks in the month of May 1992 in the village of Hranča - the municipality of Bratunac.
On May 3, 1992 in the attack on the village Hranča four people were killed, including a 6 year old girl, and 9 people were captured and taken away never to be seen again. Some of the houses in the village were destroyed.
In the repeated attack that took place on May 9, 1992 at least 14 people were killed and the rest of the village destroyed.
The suspect shall be handed over, within the legal deadline, to the Assigned Prosecutor who shall question him and then decide whether to file a motion for custody or not.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH continues its investigation in the aim of issuing an indictment in this case.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
