SUSPECT DEJAN RADOJKOVIĆ EXTRADITED TO THE BIH JUDICIARY
28.05.2012. 15:28On 24 May 2012, suspect Dejan Radojković, born on 03 January 1951 in Pale, was deported from the United States of America, pursuant to the request of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and an Arrest Warrant issued by the Court of BiH.
The suspect is under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH since he is alleged to have committed a criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH (BiH CC), against victims of Bosniak nationality in Srebrenica, in July of 1995, as one of the Commanders of Jahorina Training Center of the Special Police Brigade of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior (MUP RS).
The suspect was deprived of liberty at the Sarajevo International Airport by police officers of the BiH Border Police.
The Prosecutor in charge of this case will question the suspect within the statutory deadline and put forward a motion for detention.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH will continue its work on this case in the direction of filing an indictment.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH has established significant cooperation with the United States judicial and law enforcement agencies in the course of this extradition; therefore, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH would like to extend its appreciation to the institutions of the United States of America for their assistance and cooperation in locating and handing over this suspect.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
