INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST JOVO KUKIĆ (1965)
16.05.2012. 15:45According to the indictment the accused has, on December 21, 2011 while working as a driver of a company engaged in international transportation of passengers on the regular line: Sarajevo - Stockholm - Sarajevo, during the loading of luggage into the bus in Malmo - Sweden hid four air rifles with optical sights with the intent to smuggle them into Bosnia and Herzegovina in the space reserved for a spare tire.
As further alleged in the indictment, the accused Jovo KUKIĆ got off the bus in Munich - Germany but left the aforementioned rifles and sights inside of it that were carried into Bosnia and Herzegovina over the state border at the GP Orašje on December 22, 2011 and were discovered by authorized officers of the Border Police of BiH.
In this manner, by way of avoiding measures of customs control, the accused has carried goods whose import requires special approval over the customs line without an appropriate approval and has thus committed the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods under Article 214, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
