SEVERAL PERSONS FROM VELIKA KLADUŠA AND CAZIN APPREHENDED AND QUESTIONED UPON THE ORDER OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH

18.04.2012. 12:46
As ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, that is, by a Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, authorized police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA, Banja Luka Regional Office,  have apprehended and questioned several persons from Velika Kladuša and Cazin, suspected of crimes of Trafficking in Persons and International Procuring in Prostitution, as referred to in the Criminal Code of BiH, as well as with the crime of Forced and Illegal Termination of Pregnancy.

Upon the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, law enforcement officers have questioned persons suspected of the criminal offense of Trafficking in Persons. They have also questioned a doctor and personnel of a medical office and seized the equipment of that office for the purpose of further investigation.

In view of the fact that these suspects cannot interfere with the ongoing investigation, and that some of the suspects had been imposed prohibiting measures, Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has not proposed custody for these suspects.

In order to protect the investigation in this case, and in view of the fact that the victim is a minor person, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH cannot provide more details on this matter and we ask the media for their understanding.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH will continue their investigation in this case with the aim of filing an Indictment against these suspects.
